Age-Friendly Walton is a county-wide initiative of the Walton Community Health Improvement Partnership (WCHIP) and the Florida Department of Health in Walton County (DOH-Walton) that is focused on addressing the health issues affecting older adults. The age-friendly activities are aligned with the 2020-2022 Community Health Improvement Plan.
In May 2019, Walton County became part of the AARP Network of Age-Friendly States and Communities and the World Health Organization’s Global Network of Age-friendly Cities and Communities.
The network serves as a catalyst to educate local leaders (both elected officials and engaged residents) and encourage them to implement the types of changes that make communities more livable for people of all ages, especially older adults.
