Coastal beach water samples are collected weekly by the Walton County Health Department from March 1 – October 31 and are analyzed for enterococci bacteria. High concentrations of these bacteria may indicate the presence of microorganisms that could cause disease, infections, or rashes. Environmental Health is responsible for issuing health advisories when these conditions are confirmed. All sample results are posted on the Florida Healthy Beaches Program website weekly.
