Holly Holt received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Auburn University in 1984 and earned a Master of Science in Management with emphasis in Healthcare Administration from Troy State University in 2002.
Ms. Holt has served as Administrator at the Florida Department of Health in Walton County (DOH- Walton) since 2012.
She currently serves as co-chair of the Administrative/Infrastructure Program Council, and is a member of the Health Management System Steering Committee.
Her community involvement includes CEO of the Walton Community Health Center, member of the Walton County Prevention Coalition, and representing DOH-Walton’s membership in the Walton area Chamber of Commerce and the National Association of County and City Health Officials. Her prior experience with DOH includes Administrator of the DOH in Holmes/Washington counties from 2003 – 2012, after serving as the Nursing Director at DOH-Holmes from 1999-2003. Prior to her employment with the DOH, she was the Family Home Health Administrator for the company she started. Her vast experience also spanned positions as Nursing Case Manager at Pediatric Primary Care, surgical floor nurse, nursing assistant/LPN instructor, and Case Reviewer.
As Administrator, Ms. Holt’s professional philosophy is to empower and train employees to perform their job duties to the best of their ability, and to represent DOH-Walton in the community in a positive and professional manner. She also strives to articulate the vision and mission of the DOH and DOH-Walton to employees and community members. Her goals for the institution are to lead the way to a healthier Walton County, to create a climate that encourages and promotes employee excellence, and to address the public health needs of the community stakeholders through strategic planning.
