DOH-WALTON UPDATES POSITIVE CASES OF COVID-19 (12292020)

DeFuniak Springs, Fla. – DOH Walton/Walton Community Health Center is conducting free COVID 19 testing in DOH-Walton locations in Santa Rosa Beach and DeFuniak Springs by appointment only.  Call 850-401-6453 for more information and to schedule a drive-up appointment. Antibody tests are not available.

The Walton County Health Department is committed to providing the COVID-19 vaccine to each priority group as well as the general public as quickly as possible. Following the initial distributions to high-risk frontline health care workers, the health department will work to provide vaccine to additional priority groups. There is no list, line, or registry available for individuals to sign up with to receive the vaccine through the Walton County Health Department at this time. Updates on how residents will be able to receive the vaccine will be announced as soon as those plans become available.

Demographic information on cases due to ongoing epidemiological investigations, are provisional and subject to change: There are 50 new Walton County cases reported for December 28th. Walton County total cases (4757). Municipalities by zip code can be found on the dashboard (click on the bottom of the page Cases by Zip code).  FloridaHealthCOVID19.gov. Community data excludes outbreaks at Correctional Facilities, Long-Term Care Facilities, and out of state residents tested in Walton County. The median age for December 28th is 47. Community cases (42) age group 0-4 (0), 5-14 (4), 15-24 (3), 25-34 (4), 35-44 (11), 45-54 (4), 55-64 (7), 65-74 (5), 75-84 (4) 85+ (0).  

An 89-year-old male and a 68-year-old male diagnosed with Covid19 have passed away.  There have been 45 deaths in Walton County. Current COVID19 Hospitalizations in Walton County Hospitals (18) This data may include persons other than Walton County cases.

Included in total cases is 483 past outbreaks in Walton County Correctional facilities staff and inmates.

Included in total cases is current and past outbreaks of (196) residents and/or staff that have tested positive for COVID-19 in  Long Term Care Facilities in Walton The daily COVID-19 report also includes information from the Agency for Health Care Administration, by county about cases and deaths related to staff or residents in long-term care facilities his report is also available at FloridaHealthCOVID19.gov.

Effective July 2, 2020, COVID-19 confirmed through antigen testing are included in overall case counts. Antigen tests are a new way to check for active COVID-19 infection at the time of your appointment.
